What Is This Event?
Neon For Neurons is a community color fun run to raise awareness of Stroke. That’s right, we said COLOR run. Neon for Neurons will be a night run where participants sport glow-in-the-dark gear like bracelets, necklaces, body paint, glow sticks and more- not to mention being “showered” with color along the raceway at our Color Pit Stops.
Is The Race Hard?
No, that’s no fun! Hard races aren't fun. Hard races are hard! We are planning a fun race with lots of color and glow-in-the-dark "bling." Neon for Neurons is the best way to be crazy with friends and family-all while supporting a good cause. You won’t be timed, so there is no pressure to hurry and get ‘er done! However, you may want to "fuel up" before coming to the race to be sure you have the energy to complete the course, reach the finish line and eat your celebratory hamburger!
Packet pick-up
Onsite registration and packet pickup will be Thursday, May 4 from 5:00-7:30 and Friday, May 5 (event day) from 5:00-7:30 at the location of the event - HMH Center for Rehabilitation, 125 Medical Park Ln. Consider coming on Thursday to avoid the crowd. Online registration will close at noon, Thursday, April 21st. The price will increase from 20.00 to 25.00 for onsite registration.
Packets
Packets will include glow swag, t-shirt, and stroke literature. Participants are encouraged to register online to take advantage of the early registration discount and to ensure they receive the t-shirt size of choice.
What Are The Color Made Of?
The magical color powder we have purchased through USA Color Supply is custom manufactured and produced right here in the United States. Colored powder features include:
· Made in the USA
· High quality
· Bright, vibrant colors
· Custom manufactured
· Designed not to stain
· 100% safe and non-toxic
· Biodegradable
It is non-toxic, is 100% safe, and also biodegradable. As with any substance, you will want to keep it out of your eyes and lungs. If you are overly sensitive, you may want to wear glasses or goggles for your eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for your mouth. (This is especially recommended for our younger runners/walkers)
Can I Take Pictures?
Of course! We will have a picture booth available at the race finish to capture participants all “colored up”! If you do bring your camera, phone, or any other electronic device, we recommend keeping it in a plastic bag to keep the dust out!
Are Kids Allowed?
Yes, kids love to get colored just as much as the rest of us. This is a family event-so kids are absolutely encouraged. All kids must have a release waiver signed by a parent/guardian and turned in before they are allowed to participate. The waiver can be obtained and signed at the event.
What Should I Wear On Race Day?
You can wear whatever you want but we suggest white clothing because it shows up the color the best! Save your race shirt for after the event-we need you wearing it proudly in the community afterwards.
Can I Run With My Dog?
Dogs and other pets (anything non-human that poops) are not eligible to participate in Neon for Neurons.
